An expert lecture by Dr. Manoj Gadhvi, Assistant Commissioner, FDA, Gandhinagar on “Medical Device Rules, 2017- New Amendments” was organised on 21st October, 2023 at the Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University. Dr. Gadhvi provided a great overview of the activities carried out by FDA both at the state as well as central level with particular emphasis on the regulation of medical devices. He delivered an insightful talk on the ever changing dynamics in the field of medical devices and how post-covid India has emerged as a strong manufacturer of medical devices. The Medical Device Rules implemented by India in 2017 was discussed in great detail along with the several new amendments added to it. The faculty members, PhD scholars and MPharm students enthusiastically interacted with the expert and overall it turned out to be a highly informative session. The expert talk was coordinated by Prof. Priti Mehta, Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis, IPNU.
