Institute of Science & Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University is organizing CME Immunology on February 22 & 23, 2024.
Immunology is the study of our defense system which has transformed modern medicine and healthcare leading towards development of monoclonal antibodies, vaccines and other biologics that can regulate, stimulate or suppress the immune system as desired. Given the importance of the immune system, a clear understanding of the basic concepts of Immunology is significant for novel drug discovery and diagnostics development. Towards this direction, the symposium will cover basic immunological concepts related to antigens, antibodies, monoclonal antibodies, complement system, innate and adaptive immune system, immune diversity, antigen processing and presentation, T cell polarization, cytokines and vaccines. The symposium will educate students belonging to Pharmacy and Life science under one roof about the fundamental principles of Immunology, aiding an effective immunology- based mechanistic understanding of action of drugs and other biologics.
Symposium will address challenges and potential solutions related to vaccines, autoimmunity, other diseases and disorders. Overall, this symposium will be an eye opener for Pharmacy and Life Science students, who are either new to the field of Immunology, or those who wish to expand and update their understanding of the biology of immune system and its significance.
