The NSS unit of the Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University, orchestrated a one-day extension activity on March 16, 2024, with a focused aim on fostering voter awareness ahead of the imminent elections in India. This initiative was carried out in Village Hirpura, Taluka Vijapur, District Mehsana. During the event, NSS volunteers actively engaged in disseminating information about the significance of voting in the forthcoming election. Door-to-door campaigns for voter awareness, supplemented by posters, were conducted, acknowledging their potential to notably boost voter turnout and participation. By wholeheartedly participating in this endeavor, NSS volunteers played a pivotal role in instilling a sense of civic duty and in advocating for increased voter participation in the upcoming elections. This activity, overall, contributed significantly to the enhancement of democracy at the grassroots level, empowering citizens with knowledge about their rights and responsibilities regarding voting.
Additionally, the guidance provided by Prof. Dr. Gopal Natesan, Director, Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University, Dr. Bhavesh Parikh, Program Coordinator, NSS (Nirma University), and Dr. Udit Chaube, (NSS Program Officer, Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University) played a crucial role in the successful execution of this initiative.
