Paving the Way for Space Life Science Education in India
On the occasion of National Space Day (23rd August), the Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University, under the ISRO-registered Space Tutor Program, hosted an expert talk on “Life Without Borders: Can Earth Organisms Survive in Space?”
Dr. Sandeep Eswarappa, Associate Professor, IISc Bangalore, shared fascinating insights on space biology, the role of tardigrades in space survival research, and the discovery of Bengaluru tardigrade strains with their unique UV-absorbing, blue-fluorescent properties—offering new hope for future space exploration.
The session, organized by Prof. Priti Mehta, was attended by enthusiastic students and faculty from the Institute of Pharmacy and Institute of Science, Nirma University.
