The Institute of Pharmacy at Nirma University organized an Alumni Lecture on the topic “From Pharmacology to Gene Editing: My Journey to Next-Gen Precision Medicine”. on 16th March 2026. The session was delivered by Dr. Krushangi Shah, Senior Scientist, preclinical research at Metagenomi Therapeutics, California, USA. Her talk highlighted the evolving transition from traditional pharmacological approaches to advanced gene-editing technologies in modern therapeutics. It emphasized how integrating molecular biology, genomics, and drug discovery enables the development of highly targeted treatments for complex diseases.
The session was highly beneficial for the post graduate in understanding the potential of precision medicine to improve therapeutic efficacy while minimizing adverse effects through personalized interventions.
