On the occasion of World Heart Day, the Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University organized an insightful expert lecture on “Inside the Heart: From Structure to Therapeutics” on 29 September 2026.
👨⚕️ The session was delivered by Dr. Prit Pandya, Fellowship in Emergency Medicine and Trauma, GCS Medical College & Hospital, Ahmedabad.

Dr. Pandya provided our Pharm.D students with a fascinating clinical perspective on cardiovascular health, covering:
🔹 Cardiovascular Structure & Function – cardiac anatomy, coronary circulation and electrophysiology
🔹 cardiovascular diseases & Emergencies – acute coronary syndromes, ischemic heart disease and heart failure
🔹 Emergency Management – rapid assessment, triage and critical-care approaches
🔹 Clinical Pharmacotherapy – antiplatelets, anticoagulants, thrombolytics and hemodynamic management
🔹 Role of Clinical Pharmacists – supporting therapeutic decision-making in emergency care
💡 The interactive session helped students connect their pharmaceutical knowledge with real-world clinical practice, providing valuable insights into the management of cardiovascular emergencies and rational pharmacotherapy.
