  • Mr. Debajyoti Roy is a PhD scholar in Pharmaceutical Sciences (specialization: Pharmacognosy) at Nirma University. His current research focuses on the pharmacognostic and pharmacological evaluation of medicinal plants and nutraceuticals, with particular interest in phytomedicinal strategies for cardiovascular and renal disorders, mechanism-based natural product research, and translational approaches to herbal therapeutics. Debajyoti Roy was a bronze medalist at postgraduate level and serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for several reputed journals published by Springer, Wiley, and Taylor & Francis He has authored and contributed to multiple review articles and book chapters on topics including phytochemicals and gut microbiota modulation, nutraceutical innovations, and drug-repurposing approaches for kidney diseases. His methodological strengths include systematic literature review, phytochemical characterization, network pharmacology, molecular docking and preclinical pharmacology study design. In addition to research, Debajyoti Roy is active in academic mentoring and student development — supervising undergraduate and postgraduate projects, preparing students for industry interactions, and delivering workshops on scientific writing and research methods. He was engaged in institution-level initiatives to promote innovation and entrepreneurship, including efforts around an Institutional Innovation Cell (IIC), a journal club aggregating pharma-industry and academic news, and student projects for the commercialization of natural products.
