About
Dr. Vanrajsinh Thakor is a distinguished Medicinal Chemist with a strong focus on Oncology and Theranostic agents. Dr. Thakor has held a postdoctoral position at the IBCH, Poznan, Polish Academy of Sciences. He completed his PhD in Chemistry and Pharmacy at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany, in 2023, where he conducted pioneering research on aminoferrocene-based prodrugs under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Andriy Mokhir. His work led to the development of innovative therapeutic strategies targeting cancer-specific conditions, contributing to his reputation as a leader in the field.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to medicinal chemistry, he was awarded an EFMC grant at the EFMC-ASMC and the 10th EFMC Young Medicinal Chemists’ Symposium, held in Zagreb in September 2023. In addition to his achievements in Europe, Dr. Thakor invited to presented his research at the 254th ACS National Meeting in Washington, DC, USA, in August 2017.
Beyond his academic achievements, he has gained significant industrial experience at Piramal Pharma Solutions, where he led organic synthesis projects for international pharmaceutical clients. His expertise in organic and bioorganic synthesis and analytical techniques has enabled him to contribute to the development of small-molecule inhibitors and other theranostic agents.
Dr. Thakor's dedication to research and innovation is reflected in his numerous publications and presentations at international conferences. His notable works include studies on anticancer aminoferrocene derivatives and the development of flavonoid analogs for cancer treatment.
With a strong commitment to scientific innovation and a proven track record of success in both academic and industrial settings, Dr. Thakor continues to make significant contributions to the field of medicinal chemistry.
