Student Achievements


The students of the Institute of Pharmacy are actively involved in various curricular, co-curricular, extracurricular and research activities.

Doctoral students have received various fellowships like Prime Minister’s Fellowship, Women Scientist fellowship, SRF, JRF and INSPIRE fellowship from various government funding agencies, like ICMR, GSBTM, SERB-DST, DBT, CSIR, etc. Many research scholars have presented their research posters at various International Conferences held in the UK, USA, Austria, Thailand, etc. Few of the graduate, postgraduate and doctoral students did their research training/summer internship at foreign universities like the University of South Australia, Harvard Stem Cell Institute, Harvard University and the University of North Carolina.

Most postgraduate students have been awarded the best MPharm Thesis Award by Rajnibhai V. Patel Trust – sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology and Troikaa Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

The students are also outperforming in various national and state level quiz competitions, debate, cultural fests, essay writing competitions, drama and singing events, sports, etc. and securing prizes many times. Prizes were fetched in Swimming Competition at Khel-Mahakumbh, Gujarat.

2020

Vishal K Chavda, PhD Research Scholar, Department of Pharmacology, Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University has received FENS (Federation of European Neuroscience Societies) Grant Award and FENS Voucher Programmer Grant award

Vishal K Chavda, PhD Research Scholar, Department of Pharmacology, Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University has received FENS (Federation of European Neuroscience Societies) Grant Award and FENS Voucher Programmer Grant award in FENS 2020 Virtual Forum held on from 11th July-15th July, 2020. He has presented a online research poster and oral talk on his PhD Research entitled, “Neurotrophic and cerebroprotective effects of sexagliptin and voglibose: “In-silico to in-vivo animal investigational approach” at FENS virtual forum. FENS 2020 was jointly organized with British Neuroscience Association (BNA) at Glasgow, UK.

Ms. Dhara Bhayani has received full travel grant from Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India for poster presentation at MIT, USA

Ms. Dhara Bhayani, ICMR-SRF under the guidance of Dr. Priti Mehta, Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis, Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University presented a research poster entitled, “Impact of Ionizing Radiations on the Stability of Select Pharmaceuticals” at “17th International Nanomedicine and Drug Delivery Symposium” held at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA during 22nd – 24th September, 2019.
She received full travel grant from Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India for poster presentation at MIT, USA.

International paper presentation

Mr. Omkar Sherikar under the guidance of Prof. Priti J. Mehta presented a research paper at the international conference, Analytical research Forum 2012, held on July 2-4, 2012 at Durham University, United Kingdom. The Conference was organized by ‘Royal Society of Chemistry’, United Kingdom. He received full International Travel Support including visa fees and registration fees from Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India for the same.

Vishal Chavda of Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University, received YITP International Brain Research organization (IBRO) award in the World Conference of Neuroscience at IBRO 2019

PhD scholar, Vishal Chavda of Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University, received YITP International Brain Research organization (IBRO) award in the World Conference of Neuroscience at IBRO 2019, organized by IBRO and Federation of Asian and Oceanian association of Neurology also co-hosted by Korean Brain research Institute and Korean Neurological Association at Daegu city, South Korea. He received grant of 1000 USD for expenses during stay in Korea. He had presented his PhD research work as a Conference Paper and research poster which has been Published in IBRO Reports, Elsevier.
He is also awarded with IBRO Young Scientist Award 2019 at IBRO 2019.
