The Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University, organized an expert lecture on “Advanced Drug Discovery: Integrating In Silico Studies for Rational Drug Design” delivered by Mr. Gopukrishnan R., Senior Scientist (Applications), CADD, Zastra Innovations Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, on 18 September 2026.
The session provided valuable insights into modern computational approaches to rational drug discovery and design, with a focus on the applications of molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulations.
The lecture enhanced participants’ understanding of how computational tools can support and accelerate the drug discovery process by improving prediction of molecular interactions, reducing development timelines, and facilitating the rational design of safer and more effective therapeutic agents.
The interactive session offered students and faculty an opportunity to gain practical perspectives on the evolving role of Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD) in contemporary pharmaceutical research.
