UG Research Council, Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University organized a new and unique one day abstract writing competition “ABSTRACTHON 2023” on 2nd March 2023. This was the newly introduced competition by the UGRC with an aim to inculcate and imbibe the qualities of reading a review/research article, extracting the essence of the paper and writing concise abstract for the same in the UG students. Total 71 UGRC students participated. The competition was conducted trackwise; Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Management, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacology and was divided in 2 rounds; abstract writing for a review article and then research article. Internal faculties as well as external experts judged the events. Dr. Shraddha Bhadada, Dr. Chirag Rami and Dr. Riddhish Patadia were the invited external judges who immensely appreciated this new initiative of UGRC, IPNU as well as the efforts of all the participants. All the Winners of each track were awarded with exciting prizes. The event also had an engaging session by PhD students Mr. Arpit Bana, Mr. Mit Joshi, Mr. Vivek Mewada, Ms. Suman Shaw, Mrs. Kinal Soni and Ms. Preksha Vinchhi who shared their research experience and learnings of their respective fields with UGRC student participants. ABSTRACTHON 2023 was coordinated by PhD Scholars, Mr. Kartik Padma and Ms. Krishna Bhalodi under the guidance of Dr. Bhumika Patel, Coordinator of UGRC, Institute of Pharmacy.
