The Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University successfully hosted an Alumni Expert Talk on February 3, 2025, featuring Mr. Rahil Jani, Pharmacist/Pharmacy Manager at Shoppers Drug Mart, Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Canada, for Pharm.D second- and third-year students.
With a decade of experience as a clinical pharmacist, Mr. Jani provided invaluable insights into the pharmacy profession in Canada, highlighting the distinct roles of hospital pharmacists, community pharmacists, and clinical pharmacists. He emphasized key strategies to reduce medication errors in hospital settings, discussed the advantages and challenges of the profession, and provided a comprehensive overview of the pharmacist registration process in Canada.
The session concluded with an engaging Q&A discussion, where students explored career opportunities for pharmacists in Canada.
