We were delighted to host an enriching online alumni lecture on 9th April 2025 for our B.Pharm students, delivered by our esteemed alumna Dr. Komal Chaudhary (13FTPHDP21), Manager, Analytical Development NCE, Amneal Pharmaceuticals, Ahmedabad, India.
🧬 Dr. Chaudhary shared her expertise on the topic “Analytical Characterization of Biotherapeutics”, emphasizing the vital role of advanced analytical techniques in ensuring the safety, efficacy, and quality of biologically derived therapeutics.
🔬 The session covered a range of cutting-edge methodologies, including:
• Mass spectrometry
• Chromatographic techniques (HPLC, SEC)
• Electrophoretic methods (SDS-PAGE, capillary electrophoresis)
• Spectroscopic tools like circular dichroism and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)
🧪 She also highlighted the importance of bioassays and immunoassays for assessing biological activity and immunogenicity risks.
