On 16th February 2026, the Institute of Pharmacy organized an engaging alumni lecture for B.Pharm students on the topic: “Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC): Role in Monitoring Chemical Reactions & Organic Synthesis.”
We were privileged to welcome Dr. Nikum Sitwala (11MPH410, 16EXTPHDP117), Senior Research Scientist at Eurofins CDMO Alphora Inc., Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
🧪 Dr. Sitwala shared valuable insights into the practical applications of TLC in chemical synthesis, discussing key factors such as solvent selection, stationary phase, sample application, and detection techniques. He emphasized optimizing TLC conditions for accurate and reproducible results in pharmaceutical research.
💬 The session was highly interactive, offering students the opportunity to connect academic concepts with real-world industrial practices.
We sincerely thank Dr. Sitwala for inspiring our future pharmacists and researchers!
