Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University has organized a special one-week Orientation Programme during 12th October to 18th October, 2023 for students newly joining the BPharm Programme. The event began with an inauguration on October 12, 2023.
The main aim of this event was to warmly welcome and introduce the new batch of aspiring pharmacists to the academic community. During the program, students received important information, guidance, and inspiration for their upcoming educational journey.
The Inaugural Function was graced by esteemed individuals from the field of pharmaceutical research, academia and industry. Dr. Manish Rachchh, a well-known figure in academia and the pharmaceutical industry who currently serves as the Director of R&D and CEO of Accuprec Research Labs Pvt Ltd, was the Chief Guest at the event. Dr. Anup Singh, Director General of Nirma University, presided over the function, emphasizing the university’s dedication to nurturing future pharmaceutical professionals.
The program started with a warm welcome for the incoming students, who were filled with enthusiasm and curiosity, by Prof. Dr. Gopal Natesan, Director, Institute of Pharmacy.
During the event, Dr. Manish Rachchh shared his valuable insights into pharmaceutical research and development, the growth of the Indian pharmaceutical industry, and the promising opportunities for pharmacists in the field of medical devices and more. He also shared his personal experiences, challenges, and successes, motivating the students to explore and contribute to advancements in healthcare and medicine while emphasizing the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Anup Singh, in his presidential address, highlighted the significance of pursuing higher education in pharmacy and its role in building a rewarding career in the healthcare industry. He also stressed the importance of extracurricular and co-curricular development alongside regular academic growth.
The Orientation Programme concluded on a positive note, with the students feeling excited and well-prepared to begin their academic journey in the esteemed BPharm Programme at Nirma University. The guidance and encouragement from the distinguished guests further fuelled their determination to excel in their studies and make a positive impact in the field of pharmacy. The Inaugural Programme ended with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Jigar Shah, Coordinator of the Orientation Programme, 2023.
