The Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University successfully celebrated National Pharmacy Education Day 2026 – “Pharma Anveshan 2026” on 6th March 2026, commemorating the 124th birth anniversary of Prof. M. L. Schroff, the Father of Pharmacy Education in India.
The event began with a welcome address by Prof. Gopal Natesan, Director, Institute of Pharmacy, who highlighted the visionary contributions of Prof. M. L. Schroff in establishing structured pharmacy education in India and shaping the growth of the profession.
The program featured a series of insightful expert lectures and industry talks aligned with the theme: “Future Pharma Ecosystem: Fostering Synergy among Academia, Industry, Research, Regulatory and Practice.” The sessions emphasized innovation, industry–academia collaboration, and the role of pharmaceutical sciences in achieving the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
A key highlight of the event was the Youth Policy Round Table – “Pharmacy Vision 2047”, where pharmacy students from five different Institutions in Ahmedabad actively participated and shared their perspectives on the future of pharmacy education. The discussion focused on evolving pharmacy curricula, integration of Artificial Intelligence, increasing patent and innovation output, and strengthening the global presence of Indian pharmaceutical education.
The celebration also included a Patent & Innovation Awareness Workshop, encouraging students to understand the importance of intellectual property and innovation in the pharmaceutical sector.
