The Department of Pharmacognosy, Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University, in association with the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), Nirma University, successfully organized a National Seminar on “Integrating AI in Herbal Products and Nutraceuticals Regulations” on 28 September 2026 at Nirma University, Ahmedabad.
The seminar explored the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in herbal and natural product research, covering emerging applications in phytochemical research, natural product drug discovery, system pharmacology, network pharmacology, and molecular docking.

✨ Dr. Dhaval Patel, Assistant Professor, Gujarat Biotechnology University, Gandhinagar, delivered an insightful session on “From Phytochemicals to Biological Networks: AI-Enabled Discovery in Herbal and Nutraceutical Science.”
✨ Dr. Siddheshwar Chauthe, Assistant Professor, NIPER Ahmedabad, shared valuable perspectives on “Revolutionising Drug Discovery from Natural Products: How AI Can Help Transform Nature’s Molecules into Medicines.”
✨ A technical session on AI in System Pharmacology was conducted by Dr. Niyati Acharya, Ms. Aditi Gupta, and Mr. Debajyoti Roy.
💻 The seminar also featured a hands-on demonstration on Network Pharmacology and Molecular Docking, providing participants with practical exposure to AI-enabled approaches for natural product research.
The event provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, interdisciplinary learning, and exploring the convergence of Artificial Intelligence with herbal products, nutraceuticals, and natural product drug discovery.
