The Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University, proudly inaugurated its two-week Faculty Development Programme (FDP 2026) titled “Innovation to Commercialization in Pharma and Healthcare: Research, Intellectual Property, Funding, Regulatory Science and Entrepreneurship”, scheduled from June 15–30, 2026.
This FDP is designed to strengthen and enhance faculty competencies in key areas including:
🔹 Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and its various aspects
🔹 Pharmaceutical patent filing processes
🔹 Strategic patent drafting
🔹 Regulatory Science and Strategic Development of Innovative Therapeutics
🔹 Extramural Grant Proposal Writing
🔹 Innovation, Incubation, and Entrepreneurship
The programme was inaugurated by the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Narottam Sahoo, Former Advisor, Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST). His insightful address, “Dream. Discover. Develop. Deliver: The Journey from Research to Relevance,” inspired participants to translate research into meaningful societal impact.
The inaugural session was presided over by Prof. Dr. R. N. Patel, Director General (I/c), Nirma University, who delivered a motivating address highlighting the importance of innovation, research excellence, and continuous learning.
Prof. Gopal Natesan, Director, Institute of Pharmacy, welcomed the gathering and emphasized the need for reskilling and upskilling faculty members to keep pace with evolving advancements in pharmaceutical sciences and healthcare innovation.
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Charmy Kothari, Coordinator, FDP 2026, Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University.
