  • Dr. Tejal is presently working as Professor & Head in Department of Pharmaceutics and Deputy Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Nirma University, Ahmedabad. She has done her Ph.D. from Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar & B.Pharm & M.Pharm (Pharamceutics & Pharmaceutical Technology) from Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. She has more than 27 years of teaching including research experience at UG & PG level. Her current area of research includes Bioavailability enhancement of sparingly soluble drugs, development of micro and nanoparticulate drug delivery systems administered via various routes. She has published more than 100 research papers in journals of national & international repute. She has also presented several papers in national & international conferences. She has published more than 15 chapters in international and national books. She is recipient of several awards like the Best Paper Award 2004 granted by Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers’ of India, R. V. Patel Best M.Pharm thesis award in Guide category, Best Professor Award for Overall Performance by Nirma University, Long Service Award, Prof. M. L. Shroff “Pharma Recognition Award” by Team Pharma Lok. She has also authored the book "Practical Manual of Pharmaceutical Engineering 1st and 2nd edition", Practical Manual of Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms", "Pharmaceutical Quality Management and Drug delivery System" and 'An essential guide in Pharmaceutics". She has filed 5 patents related to her form which research three of them are granted. She has successfully completed GUJCOST sponsored minor research project and one major research project of nanofiber-based drug delivery system for oral cancer under GSBTM of approximately 57 lakhs is ongoing. She has delivered lectures in various staff development programs. She is a recognized PG and PhD Guide of Nirma University. She also conducted seminar, workshop and Hands on training. She has delivered lectures in various staff development programs. She is a recognized PG and PhD Guide. She is reviewer of national and international journals.
